National Dog Day In August

Celebrate National Dog Day With Our Brooklyn Veterinarian At Clinton Hill Animal Clinic!

At Clinton Hill Animal Clinic, our Brooklyn veterinarian offers a full range of health and wellness services for your canine companion. With August 26th being National Dog Day, we thought now would be a fitting time to remind dog owners to schedule their pups' annual health and wellness exams, vaccinations, and other care appointments here in our office. After all, routine care can help keep your dog healthy—and a healthy dog is a happy dog!

All About National Dog Day in August

National Dog Day falls on August 26th each year and was originally founded back in 2004 by well-known animal advocate Colleen Paige. She has also founded other such holidays as National Mutt Day, National Cat Day, and National Puppy Day. The purpose of National Dog Day is to recognize and celebrate all the dogs that have touched our lives, from the dogs we have welcomed into our own homes to dogs that have served in our communities.

So, with National Dog Day being in August, what will you do to celebrate? If you have a dog of your own, consider going out of your way to make this day special for him or her. Bring your dog home his favorite treat, or take him on an extra long walk.

If you don't yet have a dog of your own, what better day of the year to adopt one? There are likely dozens, if not hundreds of dogs in need of a home at your local shelter or animal rescue. Save a shelter dog's life today! Or, if you're not currently in a position to adopt a dog, consider donating your money or time to a local dog rescue.
